We partner with schools, community-based organizations and other groups to provide curriculum-embedded virtual & hands-on skill-based workshops for young people and adult learners.

Our collaborative approach to curriculum development means that, while we have a few models for type & length of partnership (ranging from one 90-min workshop to a semester-long internship program), we know that you are the expert for your group’s needs. The most successful experiences will grow from us working in tandem to develop the right cadence & depth for you.

This collaborative and multi-disciplinary design project between you and The Level Up Project seeks to build relationships between students or aspiring professionals and working artists, designers and fabricators in a socially-engaged design process and vocational training that addresses equity of access in art and design. We provide required materials to participants.

External Partnerships

Forsyth Satellite Academy

An unexpected partnership began when Forsyth Satellite Academy’s art instructor Paula Walters Parker reached out to us in September ‘20 about signing up her 14 high school students for our 1.0 workshop week. Instead Paula & Allison began scheming over many zooms to integrate Swati’s natural dyeing workshop into Paula’s covid-safe curriculum. We were able to use some of 1.0 ticket sale dollars to fund these two workshops, fully resourcing all students, faculty & parents who attended both. We are currently applying to become a Department of Education vendor in NYC, before launching a pilot internship program with Forsyth in Fall ‘21.

Forsyth Satellite Academy is a Title 1 transfer high school. The school stresses learning in a small, student-centered community, with a focus not on testing but inquiry-based projects, and a strong art program. Students are encouraged to ask questions as they explore new concepts and ideas, thereby constructing their own learning experience. In particular, Forsyth’s art program has developed partnerships with Pratt Institute, as well as local museums & galleries, to provide new learning experiences for students, while exposing them to career opportunities in the arts.

We are honored to be one of these links, in collaboration with Paula and the Forsyth community.
